The Rockbox Development team has had some success booting their Rockbox firmware for the MR-100. Here's a little info on what Rockbox is, straight from their website.

Our man Shirour has done it! 

Shirour's has managed to get linux kernel 2.6.15 running.  Also managed to get a serial interface to the kernel via a small voltage converter that he's made... classy work all round buddy.

Not only that, he's ported a touchscreen driver and got it fully working on the robe.
