The first time you connect the mrobe to your computer it prompts you asking if you want that computer to recognize it. Try connecting again and see if this happens.

You can also open mtrip first and then connect the mrobe and see what happens. I'll take a look at mine when I get home and see if I can find a way to do it just using the menus.

Seems extreme for what he wants to do, though. There has to be an easier way to do it.

for this to work your pc is need at least to be able to see the mrobe as an external HDD if your pc cannot then this will not work.

first you need a copy of winrar the archiving program, then select the firmup software with the right mouse button and select EXTRACT FILES then choose a blank folder to put them in like firmup or something appropriate.

once all the files in MR500i_FirmUp_103.exe have been extracted find the file marked "FIRMUP.INI" locate the code line "FirmVersion=1.030 CheckVersion=1.03"
change them into the following "FirmVersion=1.050 CheckVersion=1.05" then save and exit.

now connect your M:robe to your pc and start the windows explorer (for this to work your pc is need at least to be able to see the mrobe as an external HDD if your pc cannot then this will not work.) then conect your m:robe to the pc and wait for the system sound to play to tell you that the mrobe is conected, go to windows explorer and find my computer now look at all the folders your hard drive and disk drives should all be labeled now find which is the m:robe (on mine its G:\ as i have two cd rom drives) now right click on the m:robe and select "FORMAT..." then just rename the M:ROBE to whatever and start the format process once finished remove the m:robe and turn off then back on, then replace the mrobe to the pc and go to the folder where you extracted the MR500i_FirmUp_103.exe find the file "firmup.exe" and start the whole firmup process again, then follow the instuctions on the firm up program, one finish try to connect the m:robe to m:trip as before and it should work now.
