sorry to hear it. But

first of all, I've moved this to the DEVELOPMENT forum.

So, tell us, exactly what happened..You MUST answer these to go further:

1. which linux guide you did you use? Give link.
2. mr500, not linked to PC, you switch on, anything there? any error messages?
3. mr500, linked to PC, USB connected, anything there? any error messages? Does PC see the mrobe drive? Do you get the 'Pls Do Not Disconnect' screen on the mr500?
4. You did use your cradle didn't you...through all your tries?

Nothing revolutionary here.. just a better release of Linux for the m:robe.

Last updated Feb 23 00:00 GMT.

Key Changes
  • NO NEED TO PARTITION (see the Installing section below)
  • Clock works now (bottom-right of screen)
  • Battery indicator
  • Power button (press once to shut down; be patient)
  • Faster bootup (120 seconds)
  • (v1.1) Should fix "CANNOT LOAD THIS FILE" error messages

Installing
  1. Download http://www.scesoc.ca/~cat/arm/mrobe/linux/mrobe-linux-1.1.zip.
  2. Unzip into the root of your m:robe. This should create a linux directory and replace User\Remix\R0000001\R0030001.svg and System\Template\T0000001\T0010001.svg.
  3. If you get "CANNOT LOAD THIS FILE" errors, try to rename the SVG files to the same names that were already there.
I would suggest that you go into Settings, Launcher, and disable all applets except Battery and Clock. None of the others are functional and they only slow down the startup.
You can remove prog.mrb from the root directory if you wish.

Starting Linux
  1. Disconnect the m:robe (properly! Use the Safely Remove Hardware tray icon).
  2. Once your m:robe starts up, select the Remix function and then click the first remix.
  3. Bootup takes about 2 minutes. Get something soft but with a small tip to use as a stylus.

Thanks goes to Shirour for helping out with a lot of this.

Please send feedback.

I tried it without firmware 1.05 :( ( sr I'm so dump)
the robe didn't show any error mess ( 'cause the LCD couldn't display anymore ) and it can play music normally :(
I tried to shot some photos but the LCD changed to grey :( but when connecting to PC , I got the photos
>>> I can't understand what's the matter with it

Sounds fixable I think, your mr500.

YOUR RISK though.

You need to redo your firmware I think. Go to GUIDES/change exploited firmware back to original 1.03 + REMIX here > http://www.mrobe.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2796

Good luck but ask again and again if you're not sure about my suggestion.

cls, pls say what you tried exactly...was it the firmware redo...? How far did you get? Is there ANY message on your mr500 screen at all. Pls type it out here exactly.

The more exact information you can give us, the more possible it is for you to fix it.

best wishes

jam
