I see that two others on the forum have gotten this too. This is just no good. Have either of you found a solution for this yet? Too bad my computer can't detect the unit or I could just upload the old firmware...
This also happaned to me when I was uploading 0.jpg and my file was a tad smaller (2KB). Oh boy...

Have you people made sure to recode the CRC file before reencrypting the bin? I've done the flash twice now and I've had no problems aside from the mini image.

Yes, I made sure to correctCRC.
And I succesfully uploaded new pictures 5 times before it messed up, but the background was mini-image. I changed and got the boot and logoff logos working perfect aswell.

Im running into the same problem as meatball over here,

cd C:\mrobe\MR5-FW-UP decrypt
'mr5-fw-up decrypt' is not recognoized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Im probally making the stupidest mistake ever, but i still dont get it. Im sure i did exactly the same thing as the guide, but ovbiously not.

i hate to rain on anyone's parade, but if you're not fully aware of what youre doing and the possible consequences, you shouldnt be hacking your firmware.

you WILL brick your mrobe

This is how you need to do it

type into the thing like this:

c:
cd\mrobe
mrb5-fw-up decrypt

^you^ the cmd.exe has to be on the same hard drive as the mrob.exe thing

You must use cd\ to navigate to the folder where the up file is located.

And yes, you must use "_" not "-".
